Linked charts¶
The linked charts feature in cTrader allows you to link charts together. You can link multiple charts to each other, and also link the Active Symbol Panel to the charts.
When two or more charts are linked and you change the symbol in one of them, the symbol in the remaining linked charts is updated automatically.
If two charts and the Active Symbol Panel are linked, and the active symbol is changed in any of those sections, the other sections will also switch to the new symbol. This enables you to quickly switch the underlying symbol across all linked charts without needing to reconfigure each chart setup.
Link charts¶
In the top-left corner of each chart and Active Symbol Panel there is a colour selector. By default, the Colour selector is white and not linked to any other chart.
When you click the Colour selector, eight linking options appear, along with the option to unlink (white with a diagonal red line).

If you apply Blue A to two charts and Green B to two other charts, then change the active symbol in one of the green B charts, the linked chart will also update its active symbol.
The blue A charts will not be affected. If you also apply Green B to Active Symbol Panel, the active symbol in that section will also synchronise with the other two green B charts.

To unlink a chart, click the Colour selector and select the unlink option (white with a diagonal red line).
Note
The linked charts feature in cTrader differs from chart templates because it allows you to change the symbol underneath the chart setup, whereas templates are applied on top of a selected symbol.
Using Workspaces, you would need to open a new chart, set the period and then apply the saved templates on top of the chart.
Using linked charts, you can swiftly change focus from one symbol to another. Chart templates remain useful for saving the chart setups you are not actively using.
