Account management with an AI agent¶

This guide covers basic tools and prompt examples for monitoring and managing your trading account through the cTrader remote MCP server.

Tip

When starting a new session with your AI agent, begin your prompt with Using the cTrader remote MCP server.... This helps ensure that the agent calls the MCP server instead of routing requests to web search.

Account overview¶

Get a full picture of your account status:

Give me a summary of my account including balance, equity, free
margin, and the number of open positions and pending orders.

Check balance¶

What is my current account balance?

The agent returns your balance, equity and free margin.

List available symbols¶

What trading symbols are available on my account?

Is XAUUSD available for trading?

View assets¶

What is my deposit currency?

Margin monitoring¶

Set up a margin check by asking:

Check my free margin as a percentage of equity and warn me if
it's below 20%.

Account health check¶

Combine multiple checks in a single prompt:

Run an account health check: show my balance, equity, margin level,
number of open positions, and total unrealised P&L. Flag anything
concerning.
