# Watchlist.SymbolNames

## SymbolNames

Gets the names of the symbols in the watchlist.

Environments: Desktop supported · CLI supported · Cloud not supported.

- Cloud: Never available in the cloud: it is only returned by members that do not work there (Watchlists, Watchlists.Item, WatchlistAddedEventArgs.Watchlist and more).

C#:

```csharp
IReadonlyList<string> SymbolNames {get;}
```

Python:

```python
watchlist.SymbolNames: IReadonlyList[str]
```

### Returns

`IReadonlyList<string>` — 

### Examples

C#:

```csharp
foreach (var watchlist in Watchlists)
{
    if (watchlist.SymbolNames.Contains(SymbolName))
        Print("{0} is in watchlist {1} with {2} symbols", SymbolName, watchlist.Name, watchlist.SymbolNames.Count);
}
```

Python:

```python
for watchlist in api.Watchlists:
    if api.SymbolName in list(watchlist.SymbolNames):
        api.Print(f"{api.SymbolName} is in watchlist {watchlist.Name} with {watchlist.SymbolNames.Count} symbols")
```
