What is the difference between a cTID and a trading account?¶
A cTID is a set of credentials (i.e., email/username and password) used to sign in to all client applications across cTrader brokers. A trading account is a seven-digit unique number specific to the broker it was created with. Learn about other differences.
Can I change my cTID username?¶
A username is automatically generated based on your email address when you create a cTID. However, you can change it at any time, just like you can change the email and password associated with your cTID. Learn how to modify cTID credentials.
Can I sign up to cTrader with my social accounts?¶
Yes, you can sign up to cTrader with your Facebook, Google or Apple accounts. Note that to achieve this, your Facebook credentials should contain an email, not just a phone number. When signing up with an Apple account, choose to share the email associated with your Apple ID; otherwise, you may encounter issues with broker recognition and accessing live accounts. Can I access different brokers' cTrader apps with the same cTID?¶
If you created trading accounts with several cTrader brokers and used the same email (and, subsequently, the same cTID), your cTID credentials can be used across these brokers. Note that in each branded cTrader app you will only see the accounts registered under the corresponding broker. A cross-broker cTrader app allows traders to access all trading accounts they have with all cTrader brokers.
I created a cTID, but I have not received a confirmation email. Why?¶
A cTID confirmation email may not have arrived in your inbox for the following reasons:
- The email was moved to spam without your knowledge. Go to the spam folder and find the email. Mark the email as not spam and add noreply@ctrader.com to your list of safe contacts to prevent future emails from this address from being marked as spam.
- Temporary network issues may have delayed the delivery of the email. If you still have not received the email after some time, visit the cTID website, log in and click the 'Resend Confirmation Email' button.
- If the suggestions above do not resolve the issue, please contact us at community@ctrader.com, and our team will be happy to investigate further.
I created my account inside the broker’s client area, but I have not received a cTrader ID welcome email. Why?¶
A cTID confirmation email may not have arrived in your inbox for the following reasons:

I created my account inside the broker’s client area, but I cannot see it in cTrader. Why?¶
After you create an account in your broker's client area, you may not see it in cTrader due to the following reasons:
- You are using a wrong cTrader application. Check and confirm that you are using a cross-broker cTrader app or your broker’s branded cTrader app. You cannot access your Broker 1 trading account in Broker 2 branded cTrader app.
- You have created an account for a platform other than cTrader. Only cTrader accounts can be used in cTrader apps.
- The email address you used to enter your broker's client area differs from the one you used to log in to cTrader. When a trading account is created in the broker’s client area, the broker links this account with a specific cTID. If you log in to cTrader with a new email, the trading account associated with the previous email will not be shown.
I created my account in cTrader, but I cannot see it in my broker’s client area. Why?¶
After you create an account in cTrader, you may not see it in your broker's client area due to the following reasons:
- The email address you used to enter your broker's client area differs from the one used to create your account in cTrader. Your broker's client area shows the information for a different cTID.
- There was a problem, and your broker’s client area was not notified about the creation of your account.
In both cases, you need to contact your broker to link the new account with your client area identifier.
I have trading accounts with several brokers, but I cannot see all of them on the cTID website. Why?¶
You are probably using a broker-specific cTID website, which only displays the trading accounts registered with the corresponding broker. Access the cross-broker cTID website to view all your live and demo accounts created under all cTrader brokers.
