FAQ¶

I signed in and none of my trading accounts are there. What happened?¶

You probably used a different social provider from the one you signed up with. That opens a second, empty cTrader ID rather than yours. Sign out and log in with another one.

I cannot see my trading account. Why?¶

A broker-branded app reaches only the accounts you hold with that broker. Install the cross-broker app to see your accounts with every broker.

I signed up with Apple ID and cannot reach my live accounts. Why?¶

A hidden address can cause recognition problems in your broker's system and stop you reaching live accounts. Sign up again choosing Share my email.

How do I open a trading account?¶

Tap Open new account in the account selector, Open trading account in the main menu or, on a demo account, Go live. These routes work in every cTrader app and take you to your broker's website to finish.

If I hide an account, does that stop me trading it?¶

No. Hiding only moves it into a Hidden group in the account selector, even when it is your active account.

Where are my plugins?¶

Pull down in Markets, Positions or the symbol overview to open the plugin bar, then tap a plugin. Tap at the end of the bar to add one.

How can I see the balance bar?¶

Turn on Show balance bar in Settings. Swipe the balance bar up to hide it and down to bring it back, or sideways for its other figures.

Why is a red dot showing on my account tracker?¶

Your margin level has fallen to 200% or below, though nothing has been closed yet. To be warned earlier, set Custom margin calls in Settings.

Autochartist and Trading Central have disappeared. Where did they go?¶

They are third-party services, available only if your broker subscribes to them. They follow the account you are on.

Why does the Android APK never update itself?¶

Direct APK builds carry no update mechanism. Download each release by hand. A store version cannot be installed over one either, because the signing keys differ.

What advanced protections does cTrader offer?¶

Up to five take-profit levels to scale out of a position, a trailing stop loss and break-even. All protections are held server-side. They work in every cTrader app, even with the app closed.

Can I set a trailing stop loss by dragging it on the chart?¶

No. Dragging sets a plain stop loss or take profit. Set trailing and break-even on the Place order, Modify pending order or Protect screens.

Why did my market order not fill at the level I drew?¶

A market order fills at the price prevailing when the server receives it, not at the entry price of the risk-reward tool. Set the type to Limit or Stop to enter at the level you drew.

Why does tapping Deposit open a website instead of a form in the app?¶

Brokers on cTrader single sign-on take the payment in the app, and the rest open their own payments page in your browser.

Can I become a strategy provider in cTrader Copy from my phone?¶

No. Providing a strategy needs a live account in cTrader Web, Windows or Mac. On your phone you can invest in strategies and share them.

Can I share a strategy I am copying?¶

Yes, but not from Copying. Open it under Strategies or Favourites and share it from the strategy page.

Can I build a cBot or an indicator on my phone?¶

No. They are written in cTrader Algo on Windows or Mac. You upload, run and monitor them from My cTrader on your phone.

What is the difference between Stats to share and Account access rights?¶

Stats to share publishes a read-only page of an account's statistics, while Account access rights lets another trader place, modify and close real trades, though never deposit or withdraw.
