Where can I get plugins?

You can obtain plugins from cTrader Store, or create your own.

What do plugins do?

Plugins extend the cTrader platform by adding tools, services and interface elements.

Where can I display a plugin?

The creator of a plugin determines its possible placement areas, and you cannot define brand new placements. However, you can control the visibility of certain plugins in specific UI areas.

Why can’t I see my installed plugin in cTrader?

You might not see an installed plugin in your cTrader app because the plugin is:

• disabled in that particular cTrader app
• not configured to show in the UI area you are checking
• not supported in that particular cTrader app

How can I start using a plugin?

After installation, check the supported UI areas to start using the plugin.

Which cTrader apps support plugins?

Web-based plugins from cTrader Store work across all cTrader apps, while native plugins function only in cTrader Windows and Mac.

How do plugins use data?

Plugins interact with trading data or external services depending on their functionality and configuration.

Can plugins trade?

Yes, plugins can place or modify orders, access account information and retrieve trade history. These actions happen securely within your active cTrader session.

Are my plugins synced across my cTrader apps?

With enabled cloud synchronisation, plugins supported in all cTrader apps are automatically synchronised across Mobile, Web, Windows and Mac using your cTrader ID, while plugins limited to cTrader Windows and Mac are synced across those apps only.

Where do I declare customisable parameters for a Python plugin?

Declare customisable parameters in the plugin's .cs file, not in the Python code. C# plugins declare customisable parameters directly in their C# code, while Python plugins use a separate .cs file generated automatically in the plugin project folder.

Why doesn't my Trade Watch tab appear where I set it?

Plugin tabs in Trade Watch are positioned separately from the default cTrader tabs. The Index property controls the ordering of custom tabs rather than the placement of built-in tabs. See placements for details.

Why does my web-based plugin get no responses from cTrader?

A web-based plugin must complete client-host synchronisation before sending requests. Make sure the communication channel with cTrader is established before calling SDK methods. Requests sent before synchronisation is complete may not receive responses.

Why does a link or redirect in my web-based plugin not work?

Web-based plugins load content from the domain specified in the URL field when the plugin is built. In cTrader Web, navigation to a different domain is blocked inside the plugin. To open an external website, use a new browser tab, as explained in domain restrictions.

Why does my native plugin run but not trade?

Native plugins require explicit user permission before performing trading operations. When a plugin first attempts to trade, cTrader asks the user to confirm. If the user declines, the plugin continues running without trading capability, so handle this case in your code. Web-based plugins using the plugin SDK execute trades without this native-plugin permission prompt.

How do I add custom buttons to the chart toolbar?

You can add custom buttons to the chart toolbar using a native plugin. Use Commands.Add() with CommandType.ChartContainerToolbar to register a button and assign an action that executes when the button is clicked.
